De Vries responds to rumours about opportunity at Aston Martin

A second Dutchman in Formula 1 would be great news for Dutch fans. De Vries' name has been in the rumour mill more than once about a possible entry into F1. With the free seat at Aston Martin there seems to be an extra chance for the driver from Sneek. De Vries is a reserve driver for Mercedes and Aston Martin maintains good contacts with that team, because they buy the engines.

De Vries is quoted by Motorsport.com: "Well, of course everyone wants to know what my future holds and whether Seb's departure offers opportunities for me." The problem is that he is not the only driver lurking on the open seat. According to the Dutchman, Formula 1 is the goal of every young racer. De Vries is not yet able to give a definitive answer about his future. Nor does the Dutchman indicate that he is in talks with any of the Formula 1 teams. The Fomule E-driver will do everything to show that he deserves the seat.
