This weekend Formula 1 will be held in Great Britain. Although Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton will probably not have much to do with each other on track this year, Jos Verstappen thinks that his son still has a score to settle with the Brit.

Hamilton vs. Verstappen in 2021

Hamilton is the strongest driver ever at Silverstone. The seven-time world champion won the race no fewer than eight times in total and has done so no fewer than seven times since 2014. In 2020 it was Max Verstappen who claimed victory. In 2021, the Dutchman wanted to do so again, but the attempt to win that year's GP was quickly halted by a serious on-track incident with Hamilton. The Briton won the race, while Verstappen was eliminated on the first lap and even had to go to the hospital for monitoring after his hard crash into the wall.

It was one of the great controversies of the season. In Italy, the two title contenders also hit each other, but then it ended badly for both. The most controversial point was ultimately the final race in Abu Dhabi, where Max Verstappen won the title and beat Hamilton in the end. It was the denouement of an intense title fight that went back and forth all year. Preparing for this year's GP at Silverstone, Jos Verstappen says that his son still has a bone to pick with the Mercedes driver.

Jos Verstappen agrees that there is a score to settle

RTL Nitro asked the former F1 driver whether there is still a score to settle between his son and Hamilton. Verstappen senior replied: "We all know that. But Max is never worried and always does a good job. Under normal circumstances we should be strong here, but you never know." Verstappen stressed he has a good feeling about this coming weekend, but is expecting surprises from teams who may bring major upgrades, such as Mercedes.
