Christian Horner says that there is currently little difference between Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez and speaks highly of the respect between his two drivers. He also thinks that the medium tire will do well in Canada and explains that bringing new updates was not an option given the tight schedule after Baku and the budget cap.

During the first free practice session at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, Horner says to Sky Sports"I think the medium is a decent tyre. Checo is down on this lap, he was up until turn 10. There's not a big offset between the two of them."

The British team boss says it is still the same Red Bull compared to seven days ago in Baku. "It's the same Red Bull as it was 7 days ago. With a tight turnaround, it's very difficult to have anything new and particularly this year with the budget cap."

Healthy respect

Horner calls the healthy respect between his two drivers great. "They quite like each other which helps, whether that will last we'll see."

The Briton continues: "They understand the job they do for the team is bigger than self-interest at the moment. Whether it stays like that we'll see. They push each other and get the best out of each other. Checo is in the form of his life at the moment, he's getting the most out of it."
