Mercedes suffered a lot of porpoising during the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. It caused Lewis Hamilton to step out of his car cautiously afterwards. According to Toto Wolff, this could easily have major consequences, the team boss told Sky Sports.

Since the beginning of the season, the German racing team has been suffering from the problem. In recent months the problem seemed to diminish further, but in Baku it seemed to be worse than ever. Both George Russell and Hamilton complained about the physical problems that caused it.

Wolff can well imagine that both drivers are suffering from it and therefore hopes for a solution soon. For the upcoming GP in Canada, he is taking several scenarios into account. "It goes properly deep into the spine and there are some consequences. The solution could be to have someone on reserve," Wolff said, pointing to Hamilton's back problems.

Mercedes catching up with Ferrari

Despite Mercedes' problems, the team was able to take third and fourth place. This allowed the formation to further catch up with Ferrari, which is second in the constructors' championship. The difference between the two teams is still 38 points due to the retirement of Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz.
