Max Verstappen will start from P3 for the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. The Dutchman could not match the times of poleman Charles Leclerc and teammate Sergio Perez. Nevertheless, Verstappen expects a strong race on Sunday.
He had expected more from qualifying, but Verstappen knows his Red Bull is fast in the long runs. Ultimately, the result counts on Sunday, so Verstappen is happy with the result for the team.
"I think the beginning of the lap was good, then it fell off a bit for me. I made a few small mistakes, so it wasn't ideal, but I just had a bit of trouble finding the balance in one lap. This is obviously not what I want, but as a team, we have a good chance for tomorrow with second and third place," the Dutchman told us after qualifying.

Verstappen has confidence in long runs

Verstappen is asked if he can challenge the Ferrari's on Sunday during the race. "We'll see tomorrow, but I think overall we seem to be a bit short on one fast lap. In the long runs our car should be pretty good," said the Red Bull driver.
