FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem has recently had a conversation with Porsche CEO Oliver Blume about the company's Formula One interest. This writes Inside Sport based on several sources.
From 2026, new engine regulations will apply within Formula 1. It ensures that in the future, among other things, a budget cap will apply to the power sources, which means that the engine suppliers will no longer have to pay out unlimited amounts of money.
It was one of the important reasons that the Volkswagen Group chose to enter Formula 1. As a result, plans for an entry seem to be ready. The announcement was a reason for Ben Sulayem to ask the company to sit down together and discuss the future.

Behind the scenes, Red Bull Racing and Porsche have reportedly already had several talks about a future partnership. Team boss Christian Horner had previously spoken positively about the brand on several occasions, making collaboration seem very real. For the time being, however, both parties did not reach an agreement.
