Alonso declares: 'Then I would think about ending my career'

Fernando Alonso has had a long Formula One career. Still he manages to compete at a good level. At the same time, his farewell seems to be getting closer. However, the Spaniard is not yet thinking about stopping, he emphasized in conversation with Speedweek.com.

The two-time world champion is in his second season at Alpine. Whereas last year he could be quite satisfied, this season he has scored two points for his team for the time being. However, Alonso still feels that he can compete at a good level.

Alonso expects to improve quickly with Alpine

The past gives him confidence in this respect. The forty-year-old Spanish driver also had a difficult start last year, but was then able to make rapid strides. Alonso is sure that he will manage to do so again and expresses his confidence in Alpine in the interview.

"If someone comes and I see that he beats me purely on power or if I can't start well anymore then I would think about ending my career," Alonso revealed. "But right now I feel the opposite. I love racing."
