For the fans of useless statistics, here is one that Ferrari will surely like. The Italian racing team won the first Grand Prix of the year from pole position, and if the statistics are to be believed, that bodes well for the team's title chances.

Nice statistic for Ferrari

All the times Ferrari started the season with a pole position followed by a victory, the team won both world titles that year. In itself this is not so strange, because with such a score in the opening weekend there is a good chance that you can also take a shot at the world title.

Most of the times this happened it was in the dominant era of Ferrari with Michael Schumacher, but also in 2007 the team started the season this way and then converted it into both world titles.

Whether the Italian Scuderia can repeat that trick in 2022 remains to be seen. The team looks strong, but Red Bull Racing was right on their heels in Bahrain. It is currently so close together that the roles may well be reversed at the next race.
