Red Bull Racing will have to work hard in the coming weeks to perform strongly at the first Grand Prix in Bahrain. That is the conclusion of Auto, Motor und Sport after the three test days in Barcelona.

Whereas last season the Austrian racing team were battling with Mercedes for the world title the entire year, Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez seem to be facing more competitors this race year. Ferrari made a good impression on all components in Spain, so the Italians seem to be going into the season positively.

Red Bull worked hard on the new car during the three test days. Especially in slow corners the Austrians managed to leave a good impression, but on other parts the team still had to give way to Ferrari. Verstappen came close to Ferrari's times, but apparently with less fuel in the car.

Test days in Bahrain give more clarity

It is expected that the test days in Bahrain, which are scheduled for this week, will provide more insight into the levels between the teams. Then, on March 20 at the same circuit, the first race is scheduled.
