For McLaren, 2022 is an important season. With new regulations, there is a great opportunity for the illustrious team to return to the top, but there is also a lot of uncertainty. With new regulations, there is a chance to shoot to the top, but also to drop all the way down in the standings.

McLaren wants to get back to the top

However, with Andreas Seidl at the helm and James Key as the technical man, McLaren has got it right since 2019. There is peace again within the team and a clear plan. Daniel Ricciardo and Lando Norris are part of that plan and hope to compete for wins with the new car.

Besides the presentation of the car McLaren already had more news this week. Norris extended his contract at McLaren through 2025. The talented driver is thus fixed until the new engine regulations. Without having driven a meter with the new cars, this is quite a sign of confidence to his team.
