The 2025
Formula 1 season will not end with the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, as many originally thought. Two days after the last race, a final Pirelli tyre test is scheduled, in which all
Formula 1 teams are required to take part.
A few months ago, it very much looked like there would be no annual post-season tests this year. After all, the technical regulations will be completely overhauled starting in the 2026 season, which would make further testing with the current generation of
F1 cars unnecessary.
Rookies will also take part in the Formula 1 post-season test in Abu Dhabi as part of the Young Driver Test, and current Grand Prix drivers, on paper, will participate in the Pirelli tyre test.
