Lewis Hamilton finished the Qatar Grand Prix in 12th place after starting 17th, capping a difficult weekend for
Ferrari in which Charles Leclerc also struggled for pace at Lusail.
Hamilton described it as one of his most challenging race weekends but said he felt fine, noting a strong first lap before losing out under the safety car.
Reflecting on his first season with Ferrari, he called 2025 difficult both inside and outside the car.
Hamilton added that he has compiled extensive notes on areas Ferrari must improve, stating there are “plenty” of things that need changing.
He urged the team to act on those items, saying there is no reason they cannot be fixed if addressed directly. Hamilton ended by expressing hope that Ferrari will make progress.
Red Bull advisor
Helmut Marko criticised Mercedes driver Kimi Antonelli after the Qatar Grand Prix, claiming Antonelli helped Lando Norris by allowing him through twice.
Speaking to GPblog, Marko said he was displeased with how easily Norris overtook the Mercedes, describing the Italian rookie's intentions as “obvious.” Norris gained fourth place late in the race after capitalising on a moment from Antonelli, earning two additional points in the championship fight.
Marko also expressed surprise at McLaren’s strategy, particularly their choice not to pit under the safety car, saying he expected them to win the race. He added that Red Bull focused on its own calculations and strategy, and once ahead, the team managed the race to the finish.
