After a stoppage in Australia, Max Verstappen added another victory to his name in Japan. This win increases his lead in the drivers' championship.
Verstappen's failure in Australia meant that the distance to Charles Leclerc was only four points. After the victory in Japan, the Dutchman increased this distance a bit more. Sergio Perez has overtaken Leclerc in the championship due to his second place.
