Red Bull Racing has confirmed that Max Verstappen will miss the Miami Grand Prix's media day as the Dutchman is currently expecting the arrival of his baby with Kelly Piquet.
GPblog was the first to report that there were several indications that pointed to Verstappen and Piquet's baby arriving, with the main one being that the Dutchman had still not reported himself to the track for the media day of the Miami Grand Prix weekend.

Red Bull confirms: Verstappen's baby is arriving, the Dutchman is expected in Miami

Now Red Bull has issued a press release confirming that Verstappen's baby is incoming, but would not be offering any further comments out of respect for the Dutchman and his family.
Earlier in the day, GPblog had already been assured that Verstappen would indeed make the trip to America to race in the Miami Grand Prix. The question of whether Verstappen had already become a father or whether the little one was on the way was also answered evasively. More news about mini Verstappen-Piquet will surely come out in the coming hours. GPblog will of course keep its readers informed.
It will be the first child of Verstappen and Piquet. Kelly already has a daughter, Penelope, from a previous relationship with Daniil Kvyat.
Red Bull announced in a short statement that everything is going well and that Verstappen is expected at the circuit in Miami on Friday.
