The Grand Prix weekend in Imola will look a bit different than we are used to. The weekend will forr once only take place on Saturday and Sunday, so the drivers and teams will have to deal with just one free practice session.
The rumors have been hanging around for some time, but the Formula 1 announced on Wednesday morning that the Grand Prix of Emilia Romagna will consist of two days. On Friday there will be no car on the historic circuit of Imola and so the drivers will have to make do with one practice before qualifying.

Only one practice session at Imola

In this way the drivers and teams will have less time to fine-tune their car for the race and qualifying and it will be more like preparing for the race. It is a remarkable decision, since the drivers and teams have not been on the circuit of Imola for many years.
There will now be no driving on Friday and that means the first session of this weekend will be on Saturday. That practice session lasts 90 minutes and starts at 10 am. Qualifying is then four hours later, at 14:00. The race will be held on Sunday as usual, but one hour earlier than qualifying: 13:10.
