Charles Leclerc finally managed to take victory again in Austria. Starting from second place on the grid, he managed to overtake Max Verstappen and keep him behind him. Lewis Hamilton and George Russell finished third and fourth respectively.

The Dutchman had an excellent start, but was soon forced to conclude that Leclerc was faster. The Monegasque rushed his rival and passed Verstappen, hoping to take his place.

Verstappen was not helped by Sergio Perez 's retirement, but Ferrari also faced a painful situation. Sainz was on course to overtake the reigning world champion when he suffered engine problems and had to retire from the car.
