Ex-Formula 1 driver Sergey Sirotkin is set to make at least two FIA World Endurance Championship appearances with the SMP Racing LMP1 team in 2019.
Sergey Sirotkin is a Russian Formula 1 driver who made his official debut this year as a driver for Williams. In the GP2 Series, the Russian finished third in the standings in both 2015 and 2016. In the meantime, Sauber contracted Sirotkin as a test driver, and the youngster made his debut during FP1 of the Russian Grand Prix in 2014. From the 2016 season onwards, Sergey Sirotkin became test driver for Renault. Last winter, when it was unclear who would become the teammate of Lance Stroll at Williams, the team eventually opted for Sirotkin over the likes of Robert Kubica, making Williams the youngest line-up on the grid.
