Toto Wolff claims that Mercedes are solving their key weakness as the thrilling title fight with Ferrari continues after the summer break.
Even when Mercedes were absolutely dominating in recent years, hot tracks and tyre wear have been clear weaknesses for the Silver Arrows, but boss Toto Wolff has revealed that a breakthrough has been made.
Since Merecedes returning to Formula One in 2010, understanding the different tyres has been a weakness for the side.
It looks as if Lewis Hamilton's win at the Hungaroring before the summer break commenced, could be a potential turning point for the leaders of the Constructors' Championship.
The track was boiling hot and the temperatures that were recorded were often in the fifties Celsius and the team recognises that.

"Free air plays a big role but it's a little bit of a mystery that sometimes you perform on a tyre and not on the other one. I think it was the other way around with Ferrari," Wolff told GPFans.
"More data to collect, more to understand, but the prevailing, overarching feeling for us is that we won the race in Budapest with 60-degree track temperature.
"That was something we would have not thought could be achieveable for us. That gives me a good feeling that we have understood more and we can be more competitive in the hot races in the future."
