Wolff: DRS should have unlimited use

Mercedes boss Toto Wolff has advocated for the DRS to be used whenever a driver wants instead of having two or three zones per track when it's allowed, as it would increase overtaking dramatically.

Mercedes are coming off the back of one of their worst races in a long time, as both Valtteri Bottas and Lewis Hamilton, who started from first and second respectively, retired from the race with technical difficulties.

This means that Ferrari have overtaken the Silver Arrows in both championships, as Sebastian Vettel now leads by a single point in the drivers' championship, and the prancing horse sits top of the constructors' championship as well, something that hasn't been the case for quite some time.

When it comes to DRS, there are a lot of people that are critical of it, as it makes overtaking simply too easy on a straight. Wolff, on the other hand, thinks that there should be more of it.

"The more overtaking opportunities there are, the more I am a fan of the DRS," he said in an interview with ORF.

Wolff also had a take on penalties during a race. He thinks that penalties shouldn't be handed out while there's still racing going on, but rather afterwards.
