Max Verstappen has talked about a different atmosphere in the team now that Laurent Mekies is in charge. All weekend, the media have been asking about Red Bull’s new team principal, and by Saturday, the Dutchman seemed to have had enough. During a media session with outlets including GPblog after the Belgian GP's qualifying session, Verstappen faced more questions about Mekies. He described the Frenchman as a team principal with strong technical expertise.
Verstappen said this is a positive thing, as it means the technical side of the sport can be discussed in depth—a quality he thinks the team needed.
It’s becoming increasingly common for team principals to come from technical backgrounds. When asked why that’s so important nowadays, Verstappen simply replied, “Yes, no idea.”
Verstappen doesn't want to dwell on it for too long
Has the sport become more complex lately? "Yes, maybe. Yeah, I don't know. I also don't want to chat about it for half an hour," the Dutchman laughed.

Verstappen seemed to have had enough of all the questions about the new team boss at
Red Bull Racing and his functioning.
The new updates on the RB21 this weekend in Spa-Francorchamps also seem to work. Verstappen was able to keep up well with the McLarens in the qualifying for the sprint race and managed to win the sprint race after a strong overtaking manoeuvre. For the Grand Prix he qualified in P4, with a set-up intended for Sunday's rain.
