Verstappen blames Renault for lack of success

Max Verstappen has lashed out at Renault. The Dutchman suggests Red Bull have the strongest chassis in the paddock and blames Renault entirely for their lack of success.

Verstappen insists the problem has become bigger since the top two teams introduced their engine upgrade. Even Haas have got closer to the Austrian team.

In an interview on Grand Prix 24/7 Verstappen expresses his frustrations now it has been announced that his team will use a Honda engine in 2019.

"We have the strongest chassis of all. If we had Mercedes made their engine upgrade, the gap has really increased," said the Austrian Grand Prix winner.

Following a disappointing weekend in Britain, Verstappen predicts the next Grand Prix in German will not feature any improvement.

But the 20-year-old remains quietly confident for the Hungarian Grand Prix. Red Bull have won two races this decade at the Hungarian track.

"I think after that, we can really compete strongly in Hungary, Singapore and Mexico."
