The new Formula 1 season starts again on 28 March with the Bahrain International Circuit as the first race venue. For many people, the race can only be watched on TV, but if you meet one condition, you can now buy a ticket and go watch it in Bahrain. Vaccinated and coronavirus recovered people are allowed to attend the race.
The Bahrain International Circuit announced this today at its website.
Ticket sales for the races at the end of this month started today. The circuit is making a limited number of tickets available for the race weekend so that enough distance can be kept and other guidelines can be properly adhered to. One of the rules for visitors is that people must at least have recovered from coronavirus or have received a vaccine against the virus. In this way, the organisation wants to make the races live and at the same time ensure a safe environment.

Safety high on the agenda

Bahrain has made safety a priority during the races. Distance is taken into account around the circuit, only a few possibilities to buy food or drinks are offered and visitors are extensively screened for symptoms of the virus before entering. The circuit also has an app available, BeAware, which keeps track of who is eligible for a ticket. These people not only have to have had their first jab, but also a second jab. People must also wear a face mask during their entire visit.
