Mick Schumacher tested with Ferrari for the first time in his career, following in the footsteps of his father Michael. But the young German revealed a very interesting detail that the Scuderia has reached the 1000bhp mark.
Following the Bahrain Grand Prix, Schumacher tested for both Ferrari and Alfa Romeo and revealed to Auto Bild afterwards that the power of the Ferrari car was something he had to "respect" and listed the all-important number.
“The car accelerates out of the corners so well. But you still need to have respect. If you don’t, with over 1000 horsepower it would be dangerous.”
Since the beginning of the hybrid era, the race for 1000bhp has been a topic that has led to much speculation as to whether Mercedes had reached the mark, something the team has not yet achieved according to Auto Bild at the beginning of the season.
Although a renewed initiative with fuel partner Petronas may lead to the team reaching the mark, it appears as though they will not be the first F1 team to reach the summit in this area.
