Carlos Sainz and Ferrari will soon come out with the announcement of a new contract that will link the Spaniard to the Italian racing stable for longer. This is what the Spanish AS on Monday to report.
Formula 1 is seeing more and more drivers being committed for longer periods of time. Max Verstappen is the pinnacle with his contract through 2028 at Red Bull Racing, but Lando Norris (McLaren through 2025), Charles Leclerc (Ferrari through 2024) and Esteban Ocon (Alpine through 2024) also have long-term contracts.

New contract for Sainz

Whereas for the other drivers more clarity is only expected later in the season in the Silly Season, Ferrari and Sainz would soon make an announcement. Even before a meter had been run in the 2022 Formula 1 season, Ferrari and Sainz let it be known that they were close to a deal, but now the announcement really doesn't seem to be long in coming.
According to Spain's AS, Sainz will sign a contract through 2024 (just like his teammate) with Ferrari. The contract is said to be all set and the announcement is expected to follow in the coming days or at least this week. Ahead of the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix, that's not a crazy choice either.
