Ocon confident going into France: 'It's a perfect weekend'

Esteban Ocon is in excellent form at Alpine. The Frenchman drove his 100th Grand Prix in Austria and crowned the milestone with a neat fifth position. Ocon talks about a perfect weekend.

Ocon qualified fifth on Friday in Austria, finishing a fine sixth in the sprint race that earned him three points. On Sunday, he earned an additional ten points for his fifth-place finish in the race.

"It was awesome. It's a perfect weekend I think for us. There is nothing better that we could have done," Ocon revealed at Channel 4 Sport. In total, Ocon has scored thirteen points at the Red Bull Ring and he says he is travelling to France for his home race with great confidence.

Ocon's good score has moved him up to eighth in the drivers' standings with 52 points. McLaren, Alpine's biggest rival this season, scored only on Sunday, but slightly less than the French team. As a result, the two teams are on equal ground with 81 points in the constructors' standings.
