Lando Norris looked like he had a claim to victory at the Russian Grand Prix. The Briton held off Lewis Hamilton for a long time and made hardly any mistakes himself, but the heavy rain at the end of the race caused the driver to miss out.
It was a painful experience for Norris who was poised for his first win. The driver drove towards the pit lane with a disappointed face and was subsequently upset for a few days. He spent the last few days evaluating what went wrong with McLaren.
"We spent two days on the simulator, and one day reviewing everything with the communication, and how we talk to each other to try and do a better job next time," he says in an interview with Motorsport.com. "I'm not going to say what I've learned, necessarily, but I've learned a lot, and the team has learned a lot. It's not a guarantee, but hopefully, we'll do a better job next time."

Norris hopes for new chance

In the final stages of the season, Norris hopes to perform again, hoping for more. "In Mexico, I think we can also be quite strong, but it's so difficult to know. I guess in Russia, we maybe didn't expect to be as good as we were and maybe in Zandvoort, we didn't expect to be as bad as we were."
