Runaway championship leaders Mercedes have opted to take an aggressive choice of tyre for the upcoming Austrian Grand Prix, deciding to take nine soft compound tyres for both cars.
Teams get an allowance of 13 sets of tyres, split however they like between the hard, medium and soft compounds, and Mercedes have decided to take more softs than both Ferrari and Red Bull.
The C2, C3 and C4 tyres are in use at the Red Bull Ring next weekend, following this weekend's French Grand Prix at Paul Ricard.
