The Formula 1 world is getting ready for the new season. This weekend the first Grand Prix in Bahrain is on the program, and Jan Lammers is curious how Mercedes will perform. He says this in an interview with NOS Studio Sport.
The German racing stable has consistently been the top team in Formula 1 for the last eight seasons, but due to the new regulations that will apply in 2022, Mercedes seem to be struggling to keep up with the competition. The fear at the Mercedes team is therefore that it will not yet be able to compete for pole position in Bahrain.
After the test days in Barcelona and Bahrain, Lammers believes Mercedes still need some time to catch up. According to him, the racing team is still in a difficult period. "The signals at Mercedes are not there yet. They haven't shown much speed yet," said the former Formula 1 driver.

Vettel doesn't dare make a prediction yet

Sebastian Vettel correctly indicated in an interview last week that it is impossible to make any predictions prior to the race weekend in Bahrain. Since the cars have changed completely and not all teams have shown their qualities yet, Vettel expects surprises on the track on Sunday.
