This summer, the movie ‘F1’, featuring Brad Pitt, will hit the cinemas. Formula 1 fans had mixed reactions to the trailer, which was released last week. Max Verstappen hopes the movie will be a success, but he isn't particularly looking forward to it. The film staring both Brad Pitt and Damson Idris is set to release next month, June 25th to be exact. It has been a project of a collaboration between the likes of Lewis Hamilton, Apple and Formula 1, with the team 'APXGP' even having its own garages at past races.
Prefer to make time for other hobbies
In a conversation with The Telegraph, Verstappen shared his thoughts on the movie. Although the Dutchman is involved in racing simulators and GT3 cars, besides F1, he isn’t excited for the movie: ‘’It’s not something that really excites me.’’
Verstappen emphasized this by declining a number of scenes with Brad Pitt. "We discussed it, but ultimately it didn't really happen. But that's fine. It's not why I'm here."
Thus, Verstappen wants to focus on other things, than the feature film. Previously, he also received questions about his test laps at the Nordschleife,
but largely received compliments from Dutch and got support from several drivers. Currently, Verstappen is number three in the Formula 1 drivers' championship. Last weekend, the Dutchman won in Imola, catching up to both McLarens. Coming weekend, the Monaco Grand Prix is scheduled, the Dutchman remains calm and keeps both feet on the ground.
