Red Bull Racing chief Helmut Marko believes future clashes between title rivals Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton can be avoided simply by using common sense.
The 78-year-old top advisor from Graz has no doubt that both drivers will do so. A friendship between the two is not expected, but according to Marko, that is not necessary. Respect however is another story.

No friendship, but respect between Verstappen and Hamilton

"Friendship? No, I don't think so. They are two completely different characters," says Marko in conversation with RTL. "In addition, they are two different individuals with different philosophies and approaches."
According to the Red Bull chief, tempers have become heated, but that doesn't change the respect the drivers have for each other. "They don't have to be enemies either, but there has to be mutual respect. I think common sense will prevail for both," Marko concluded.
