Damson Idris to co-star in F1 film with Pitt

Besides his duties as a Mercedes driver, Lewis Hamilton is also busy producing a Hollywood film about Formula 1. It was previously announced that Brad Pitt, co-initiator of the project, is taking on one of the lead roles. This week, it was announced who will get the other lead role.

The film (name is still unknown), features a former racing driver returning to the sport. The Hollywood Reporter report that Damson Idris has been hired to play Brad Pitt's teammate.

Idris is known from the series Snowfall and has also been seen in Black Mirror and The Twilight Zone. When shooting for the film will start is still unknown. The team behind Top Gun: Maverick is working on the project, with Joseph Kosinski directing and producing alongside Jerry Bruckheimer and Hamilton. Ehren Kruger, one of the writers of Top Gun: Maverick, is writing the screenplay.

The people behind the film have already been to the Formula 1 paddock for inspiration. Brad Pitt was also present during this.
