Two-time world champion Mika Häkkinen has offered some career advice to Charles Leclerc.
“From my personal experience, I never gave up. It's going to work with Leclerc and Ferrari”
- Mika Hakkinen
Speaking to a betting site, the former McLaren driver said: “His management is thinking very hard about what is happening and what's going to happen in the future.”
The Finn believes that the Monegasque driver should continue to persist and stay committed to his faith in the Prancing Horse — a loyalty that, in his view, will eventually pay off.
“From my personal experience, I never gave up. I was very loyal to McLaren with the management being able to convince me that, ‘Mika, just wait, when we get all the aspects correct in the team, you will win.
“Let's work hard. It doesn't matter if it takes 1-2-3 years. Let's just go for it.’ It worked on my personal commitment. It's going to work with Leclerc and Ferrari.”

Leclerc's manager addresses rumors

Now approaching the end of his seventh season with Ferrari, Charles Leclerc — unlike many of his generational rivals such as Max Verstappen and Lando Norris — still hasn’t had a car capable of fighting for the world title.
Since joining the Scuderia in 2019, he has collected just eight Grand Prix victories, compensating at least in part with 27 pole positions, though many of those failed to translate into race wins.
Although still in the prime of his career, it’s clear that Leclerc can’t afford to wait forever out of sheer loyalty to the Prancing Horse, and 2026 will be a decisive year in determining what the future holds for him. His manager, Nicolas Todt, has recently spoken out on the matter.
