Toto Wolff wants
Alexander Albon to break his ties with Red Bull if he signs a contract with
Williams. However,
Christian Horner is hoping that the team chooses to go with the driver, and not impose certain restrictions.
It's clear that
Red Bull Racing and Mercedes are in a heated title fight at the moment as they try to attack each other on every front. Wolff now wants to prevent Albon from driving for
Williams as a Red Bull driver, but Horner is assuming that Williams will make the right choice and bring Albon in anyway.
Albon to Williams?
“It’s obviously a huge influence but I’m assured that Williams chooses the drivers that they wish to drive in the car and they don’t have restrictions. We’ve had very productive discussions with Williams and with Alfa, and I expect the situation to hopefully be resolved in the next week or so," the Red Bull team boss said according to
Crash.net.
''We obviously want to see Alex racing next year. We rate him highly and I think we’re close to finding a solution, and of course it’s not just Williams that are showing interest in him," Horner concluded.
