Horner Excited with Potential Honda-Choice for '19

Red Bull boss Christian Horner has said that it's "great" for his team to have the choice between Renault and Honda when their current deal is up after the 2019 season.

Red Bull and Renault have been partnered since 2007 and have won many titles together, but Red Bull's junior team Toro Rosso have made the switch to Honda this year.

Talking to RaceFans.net, Horner said that Toro Rosso having the Japanese as engine partners gives Red Bull “a front row seat to see how things are progressing and evolving.”

Renault's Cyrit Abiteboul has claimed that Red Bull need to make their mind up by this May, but Horner knows that this isn't necessarily the case.

Whether Red Bull will end their relationship with Renault in 2019 after 12 years will largely depend on Honda's performances and reliability throughout this season with Toro Rosso.
