Helmut Marko, Red Bull team advisor, has been the confident member of the team for the duration of the 2019 Formula 1 season. Despite a considerable dip in form for both Max Verstappen and Red Bull, Marko remains adamant that Red Bull will win five races this season.
"I predicted quite casually that we were going to win five races this season," the Austrian said in the Talk im hangar 7 program. "I am still positive that we will achieve that."
Verstappen and Red Bull have picked up just two wins during the season: Austria and Hungary. The next race takes place in Japan, in front of the Honda home fans so the team will be extra desperate to win this race. They'll get a new fuel which should provide some extra horsepower.
With that extra power, Red Bull expects to get the most out of it, even if Suzuka is a relatively fast track. According to Helmut Marko, that should not be a problem.
"We were also quick at Spa and Monza, but we also had grid penalties there," the Austrian argues.
