Lewis Hamilton is entering his final years in Formula 1. The British driver has been driving in the motorsport class since 2007, and has won no less than seven world championships. Although he does not yet dare to say when he will actually stop, he does expect to disappear from Formula 1 before the age of 40.
The successful Mercedes driver signed a new contract in 2021 that ties him to the German racing stable until the end of 2023. At that point, he will be almost 39 years old, which raises the question of whether he will still be found in Formula 1 in 2024.

Hamilton slowly thinking of stopping

The number two in last season's world championship showed last calendar year that he still has enough fitness and quality to compete at the front. For example, Hamilton held his own throughout the race year against Max Verstappen who is 13 years younger.
Hamilton therefore does not have to worry easily that he cannot handle the level anymore, but at the same time he knows that he will not last for years. In conversation with News18.com he agrees that he has no intention of following Kimi Raikkonen and Fernando Alonso, who continued beyond their forties. "I don’t plan on being here close to that age," Hamilton said.
