Lewis Hamilton has been linked with a takeover bid for English football club Chelsea FC. According to an exclusive report from Sky Sports, the Mercedes driver put around ten million pounds into Martin Broughton's bid on Thursday.
Hamilton, along with tennis star Serena Williams, would like to layout millions in the acquisition of the football club. The plans are led by Martin Broughton, former chairman of Liverpool FC and British Airways.
According to Sky's report, Hamilton and Williams have been in talks with Broughton's group for weeks about the plans. The two athletes are said to be willing to invest around ten million pounds each in the bid. In addition, it is suggested that Hamilton also wants to play a role in Chelsea's future plans to promote diversity and equality.

Since Russia's invasion of Ukraine, Chelsea's team has been without an owner. Indeed, Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich has resigned from his duties. Broughton leads one of the last three remaining bids for the club.

It is noteworthy, however, that Hamilton wants to invest in the club, as the Briton is known to be a fan of Arsenal FC. The two clubs are both from London, so there is a rivalry between the teams.
