Gasly confident about Alpine updates: 'Only a matter of time'

Pierre Gasly has expressed confidence about his team Alpine's upcoming updates. Gasly recently ended up in a crash with Esteban Ocon, but confidence in the team has never wavered. It is only a matter of time before we see new parts on the two Frenchmen's pink bolides.
Instead of coming up with extensive upgrade packages several rounds apart last year, Alpine has created a schedule where some smaller updates are made more regularly between race weekends.

Gasly in no man's land

“I think the team definitely showed last year they were probably the best team in terms of development through the year," Gasly was quoted by Motorsport Week. The joy does not spill out, but Gasly is content with the state of affairs.
“I wouldn’t say that I’m pleased because we obviously want to fight higher up the grid and it feels like so far we’re a bit in no man’s land behind the top four teams, but we are still chasing and trying to get closer to those front runners," said the 27-year-old Frenchman.
