'FIA sees problems with race management for Miami GP disappear'

The FIA was very concerned a week ago after the Imola Grand Prix. Niels Wittich and Eduardo Freitas were found to be infected with the coronavirus, which meant that Formula 1 might have to look for another race director. According to The Race, that problem is out of the picture.
For the upcoming GP in Miami, there are clear rules. Whereas currently in most countries it is sufficient to show a vaccination certificate, the United States still has the rule to present a negative test. It would mean that it would be impossible for Wittich and Freitas to enter America.
Behind the scenes, the FIA was already preparing for a contingency plan, which would include Scot Elkins. However, that appears to be unnecessary, according to the medium. Late last week, Wittich reportedly tested negative, making him capable of running the race in Miami.

Freitas likely to be missing in Miami

Freitas is unlikely to be present during the GP to get ready for the World Endurance Championship at Spa. It means Colin Haywood will be Wittich's replacement next weekend.
