"Have I seen these things before?," the Italian wonders. "Do they send you into depression?," he asks again. Both questions are answered with a resounding "Yes."
"What hurts most about this Ferrari is the progressive, inexorable slide into anonymity. At the moment when McLaren seems to have mysteriously jammed, it is not the [Ferrari] Red that takes over. Not at all, on the contrary."
Turrini sees how Max Verstappen and Red Bull Racing, and Mercedes with both drivers George Russell and Andrea Kimi Antonelli, are the ones capitalising on McLaren's lackluster weekend in Baku, with the German outfit surpassing Ferrari in the Constructors' Standings.
"And just to make sure we don't miss anything, over the weekend Williams and the former Minardi were also regularly ahead of Hamilton and Leclerc."
Turrini's severe criticism continued, pointing out what he believes is a litany of reasons as to why Ferrari failed to perform, citing, the team's inability to bring up the tyre temperatures to optimal range, and the power unit issues, among others.
With no apparent solution in sight to Ferrari's issues he then turned his attention to the team's Principal. "Fred Vasseur has every right to complain about the too much talk circulating around Ferrari, but I hope he knows that only with victories can the bonfire of rumors be extinguished."
Hamilton fails to comply with Ferrari's order
To add to Ferrari's list of woes,
Lewis Hamilton failed to heed the instructions coming from the pitwall, ordering him to give the position back to teammate
Charles Leclerc, after the Monegasque had allowed the Briton to get by earlier in a bid to attack the drivers ahead.
As Hamilton approached the final meters of the start finish straight on the final lap of the Grand Prix, he lifted and hit the brakes, but he still finished P8 ahead of Leclerc in P9.
Following the incident, the Monegasque was less than happy with Hamilton's actions and claimed the previously agreed upon rules had been disrespected by the seven-time World Champion.
