After a thrilling 2025 season, Formula 1 have seen records broken and huge amounts of growth in the sport after conducting its end-of-season review. Throughout the year, figures have reach all-time highs in several categories, starting with the
F1 75 live event at the O2 Arena in London. The event that saw all ten teams reveal their 2025 machines to the world in front of an audience sold out in just 20 minutes.

Number of F1 fans grows massively
The sell-out of the F1 75 event was a sign of things to come, as the global fanbase of Formula 1 rose significantly, reaching 827 million in 2025. Those numbers increased by 12% compared to 2024, while a 63% increase can be taken from numbers seen in 2018.
The number of young fans has also risen throughout the exciting year, with 43% of the total F1 fanbase aged under 35, expanding by 51 million fans year-on-year. 57% of all new fans to the sport were under 35 years of age.
A gender balance in the sport's fanbase can also be seen from this review, with 42% now female compared to 37% in 2018. That has resulted in a growth of 43 million female fans year-on-year, and 48% of new fans in 2025 were female viewers.
Crowd numbers rise too
It's not just the F1 fan base that saw increased numbers; attendances at F1 Grand Prix weekends also reached lofty heights, with 11 new attendance records broken across the year.
A total season attendance of 6.7 million fans resulted in the biggest combined attendance ever, which included 19 events completely selling out, while four race weekends saw more than 400,00 attendees.
A massive increase in social media viewership was also seen, with a 33% increase of YouTube highlights year-on-year recorded, while the number of social media followers increased to a total of 114.5 million, up from 97.4 million in 2024.

A box office smash and several race extensions
The success of F1: The Movie was monumental, becoming the highest-grossing sports film of all time, with figures reaching $630 million. The release worldwide on Apple TV, and at the United States Grand Prix, F1 announced Apple TV would become the USA's exclusive broadcaster from 2026, signing a five-year deal.
The United States Grand Prix was one of nine races that announced long-term extensions, with the majority of the calendar extended past 2030, while the Miami and Austrian Grands Prix go past 2040.
F1 Sprint weekends will also continue, and their grow was also registered, with an average of 78% of fans wanting Sprint weekends to remain on the calendar. Sprint weekends also generated 8% more social mentions and 4% more social reach.
