Remarkable news from Saudi Arabia. One of the marshals working at the circuit posted a tweet in which he wished Lewis Hamilton a serious accident. The marshal was immediately fired by the FIA and has reportedly apologized in the meantime.

Hamilton an accident like Grosjean

The marshal in question posted the tweet on Saturday, the day of qualifying for the Saudi Grand Prix. "I hope he [Hamilton] has an accident like Romain [Grosjean] in Bahrain," the tweet read. He was referring to the bad accident Grosjean had in 2020 at the Bahrain Grand Prix. The Frenchman crashed hard in which his car broke in two and caught fire. Grosjean was trapped in the flames for almost half a minute before he was able to free himself.
The marshal was working at the track at the time of the tweet. According to the German website of Bild the FIA and the Grand Prix organization fired the marshal immediately. The marshal has since deleted the tweet and is said to have apologized to Hamilton.
