Bernie Ecclestone believes Mick Schumacher would still have been in Formula 1 with the help of his father. The former F1 boss thinks Michael could have given better advice to his son.
Schumacher has failed to secure a permanent seat for the 2023 Formula 1 season. The German failed to convince in two seasons at Haas and has been replaced by Nico Hulkenberg for the upcoming season. Schumacher still has a reserve role at Mercedes, but no permanent race seat.

Schumacher's choices

In Ecclestone's eyes, Michael could have played a major role in his son's career without his skiing accident. ''With all his experience, Michael could have talked to his son about so many details. He could have pointed him in the right direction in terms of driving, but also politically,'' the Brit said at Sport Bild.
Indeed, the former CEO of motorsport's top class believes Schumacher chose the wrong teams with Haas and Ferrari. ''Red Bull would have been much better for him. There they look after him more and could have developed him better,'' Ecclestone concluded.
