The Eifel Grand Prix is new on the Formula 1 calendar, but the Nürburgring is certainly not an unknown circuit. There have been many races there in various forms and according to Tom Coronel we can expect a lot of spectacle.

It haunts the

The Nürburgring has already been the setting for classic Formula 1 races in the past. With gravel pits and no running track, the track does not spare drivers who make mistakes, and with the predicted rain and cold, those mistakes will be even harder to avoid. Coronel is therefore looking forward to the upcoming race.
''The Eifel is always haunted. It can rain or be very cold. Then you really don't get your tyres working and that can make a race a lot more exciting. Formula 1 is used to racing with 25 degrees and a nice sunshine, but that's a bit different here," said the Dutch racing driver opposite Nu.nl.

Opportunities for Verstappen

According to Coronel, the lack of data from this circuit could also cause problems for the teams. In 2013 Formula 1 came to the Eifel for the last time and that was with the previous generation of vehicles.
Because of all these conditions the grid could be shaken up considerably and that offers opportunities to Max Verstappen. ''All these factors can make it very difficult for Verstappen to make the Mercedes here. It's also a circuit with a lot of medium speed corners, the Red Bull is very good," Coronel Concluded.
