Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton are facing important weeks. Both drivers are doing everything they can to grab the world title and make things very difficult for each other. Mark Hughes sums up the last five on the official website of Formula 1 the last five races and gives the Dutchman a small advantage.

Journalists can barely keep up with the excitement of the title fight. For now, Verstappen is twelve points ahead of his rival, but that could be completely different after the Mexico Grand Prix. "Five races to go. Not only is the points gap between Verstappen and Hamilton small enough that the lead can still swing from one to the other at the next race, but there is nothing about the performance trends of the Red Bull-Honda and the Mercedes suggesting one has a surefire advantage over the other," he writes.

Hughes thinks Red Bull will emerge victorious in Mexico. "The thin air means less downforce and drag for everyone – but probably in Red Bull’s favour. Conceptually its high rake gives it a higher downforce ceiling and this is a track where everyone will be running maximum downforce. The low-rake Mercedes concept tends to induce less drag – but this is a track where that advantage will be smaller than at lower altitudes."

Red Bull has advantage over Mercedes

The journalist also discusses the other four races. Once he gives Mercedes the advantage, twice he expects an equal battle and once he thinks Red Bull will be the winner. If Hughes is right, Verstappen has the best chance of winning the world title.
