Wolff clear: 'You can read it, in your lunch break or at the hairdresser's'

The championship battle between Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton is causing a lot of opinions in the media. Although Toto Wolff is sometimes annoyed by all the headlines around the races, he tries to isolate himself from them as much as possible.

The Mercedes team boss states that he is happy that there are so many fanatical followers of Formula 1. "It's important that we have the fans and also the media," he stressed in conversation with Sky. "But actually it's noise. You can read it, in your lunch break or at the hairdresser's. At the end of the day you have to concentrate on what is going on in the company."

In other parts, then, Wolff can really enjoy the sport, especially when he's working with the team to improve the car. "During a season you gain two seconds of performance, from start to finish. And those are the very small gains you make. And to explore that, to weigh it up, that's enormous fun."

Mercedes on top of constructors' championship

Mercedes is the strongest team this season for the time being. With 460.5 points they are on top of the Constructors' Championship. Red Bull Racing scored 23 points less than their competitor.
