Liam Lawson has been a star performer in the DTM Championship, which came to Assen's TT Circuit this weekend. The 19-year old Red Bull Racing talent finished on the podium in both races and leaves the Netherlands with a ten-point lead over Kelvin van der Linde.
The young talent from New Zealand has a busy schedule: this year he will compete in both Formula 2 and the DTM. In the latter race class, he leads the championship after the race weekend in Assen.

Lawson does good business for Red Bull

He did so on behalf of the Red Bull-sponsored AF Corse. His Red Bull colleague Alexander Albon was also in Assen: he represents AlphaTauri AF Corse. With two weekends to go, things are looking up for the young driver. "If you look at the points it's obviously been a very good weekend for me," says Lawson in conversation with Motorsport.com.
"It's very positive that we're in the lead at this decisive stage, and that we've made the most of circuits that suit our Ferrari. Unfortunately, we have a couple of circuits coming up that are less good for our car and that I know less well," Lawson concluded.
