Verstappen has good chance of winning the world title: 'You see that'

Max Verstappen has a good chance of winning the world championship with Red Bull Racing this season. The Dutchman is in a battle with Lewis Hamilton, who is currently eight points ahead of the leaderboard.

The Red Bull driver took the lead for the first time after the Monaco Grand Prix and subsequently remained in first place for a long time. Following his crashes at Silverstone and in Hungary, Hamilton now has more points than the Dutchman, but the battle is far from over.

Opportunities for Verstappen

Tom Coronel sees that Verstappen is working on his best year in Formula 1. "What strikes me, and I think that's pretty special, is that he's still growing and continues to surprise," Coronel tells Formule1.nl. "If you ask how many mistakes he has made, you really have to look for them. When I look at his races, I think: where is that overshoot? But there isn't. You see that he's really mature. That he's really ready."

The analyst is therefore confident in Verstappen's chances. "That Max had the speed, we already knew. To become champion, you need more than just speed - and you can see that Max has it all. Also in terms of the political game and the calmness he has. And what pressure? He has no pressure, not even now that he is fighting for the title for the first time."
