Horner reveals Red Bull's ambitions as sports car manufacturer

After the close partnership between Red Bull and Aston Martin was terminated, the two brands and Formula 1 teams worked together to develop the ultimate supercar named Valkyrie. Now that this adventure is also at an end, Red Bull is considering to continue on its own, Christian Horner has announced.

Speaking to Tom Clarkson on the Beyond the Grid podcast on Youtube, Horner ponders Red Bull's ambitions as a sports car producer in the wake of the Valkyrie project. Horner: "Who knows. The collaboration with Aston Martin in Formula 1 is now obviously ended."

Horner continued: "Now we have to decide what the next step is going to be. We have learned so much from the Valkyrie project, and it would be a shame not to do something crazy with this knowledge."

In partnership with Aston Martin, Red Bull produced only 150 Valkyrie hypercars. The ambition of this project was to use Formula One design techniques to create a lightning-fast street car, something Adrian Newey, Red Bull designer and mastermind behind the RB16B, was ideally suited to achieve.
