Rumor: Vasseur can replace Binotto before the end of the season

It's clear that Ferrari have delivered a better package in 2021 than they did in 2020. Nevertheless, the position of team boss Mattia Binotto is not safe. Rumour has it that he could say goodbye to his role as team boss before the end of the season.

Binotto on the kicking seat

This is what Jack Plooij reports on Ziggo Sport. After a short conversation with Sky Italy he says that Binotto might not finish the season. The Italian is under a lot of pressure and the team still does not seem to be able to fight for podiums.

Plooij also says that his replacement is already in place: "That is surprising. It could be Fred Vasseur, the current Alfa Romeo team principal. He would take over from Mattia Binotto already this season.

Ferrari in deep trouble

Binotto was promoted to the position of team boss in 2019. In that year, three more races were won, but after a scandal with Ferrari's engines, the Italian team lost a lot of speed. In 2020, only three podiums were achieved.
